Pralines
Aunt Sally's™ pralines are like no other pecan praline. We identify our praline as "The Sweet Taste of New Orleans". Our classic confection is the standard by which all other pralines are judged. The attractive gift boxes tell Aunt Sally's history in illustrative images and family photographs of our original historical storefront. We produce three varieties of pralines which are the Creole, Creamy, and the Chewy praline. The Creamy and the Creole praline come in multiple flavors.
The Aunt Sally's™ Praline has a delicate balance of what we call sugar burn (the sensation on the front part of the tongue) and milk fat (the taste remaining on the side of your tongue), with a light hint of vanilla and tender crunchy pecans which are poured by hand from a copper kettle.
Originally, Aunt Sally's pralines were sold individually, carried in hand-made cotton bales by vendors who rode mule-drawn buggies throughout the French Quarter. Even in the early years of Aunt Sally's Praline Shop, visitors requested and received praline shipments by mail worldwide, long before mail order became popular. Today Aunt Sally's™ pralines are beautifully packaged and visitors may see what a New York Times reporter acclaimed as the city's best praline! Aunt Sally's pralines are made daily at our two locations. They are made at our retail store at 810 Decatur Street in the historic French Market, and at our main production facility in the New Orleans By- Water district. If you are not visiting our wonderful city simply order your Aunt Sally's™ pralines online at www.auntsallys.com and have yours shipped to you whenever your sweet tooth calls.
